The boys are back! Corey Donoghue and Paul Clarke shared honours at the 'Grapplers Showdown' grappling tournament with Corey winning Gold and Paul getting the silver. Congratulations to both of them. Glen Akwei fought well but by bad luck didn't make it to the finals..

European Champ: David Onuma Congratulations to David Onuma who won the European Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championship in his division this weekend. Dave has been training for this since October and it showed with him dominating the purple belt group. A master all rounder. Despite being 42 another of our senior instructors Owen Ogbourne fought in Thailand recently. Fighting out of the Fairtex camp which he visits every year. Athough dominating the early parts of the fight he was caught by a kick and punch combination and stopped. It's always incredibly hard to win in Thailand where the people you are fighting have sometimes had a hundred fights but Owen gave his all. A true warrior.

Congratulations to Ben Richardson. Ben is a more recent Academy JKD Blackbelt than the two above but he's copying his seniors approach to Martial arts and competition by being accepted into the England Karate squad for the forthcomiing year.
